Terms of Service
Private beta · Version 2026-10-10 · Effective October 10, 2026
1. About these terms
These terms govern VillageForge, an independently operated village-planning website. By choosing Create account after reviewing these terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account. You can stop using the service at any time. The privacy notice below explains how information is handled; it is not permission for unrelated uses of your data.
2. Who may use accounts
Accounts are for people aged 13 or older who also meet the minimum age required by their local law. If you are below the age of legal majority, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms with you where required. Do not register or submit personal information if you do not meet these requirements.
3. Account security and saved plans
Use an email address you control and a unique VillageForge password. Never submit your Supercell password, verification codes, recovery codes, or private API credentials. A VillageForge account is separate from your game account and does not prove ownership of a player tag. You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect your login and for your own use of the service.
Creating an account enables progression sync by default. The saved village export, goals, preferences, and supported progression history are uploaded to your account. You can turn sync off or delete synced progression on the Account page. Turning sync off does not erase earlier uploads. Keep your own export or backup: beta storage and synchronization may fail, conflict, or be interrupted. Email verification and password-reset links are available only when email delivery is configured. The Account page shows current availability.
4. Planning advice, not guaranteed outcomes
Upgrade orders, army suggestions, image recognition, resource totals, shop recommendations, and completion dates are estimates. They may use automated analysis, incomplete imports, assumptions, or outdated game data. Check the game before spending resources or money. No recommendation guarantees wins, an optimal plan, accurate recognition, or a particular finish date.
Auto-upgrade tracking only projects changes to your plan inside VillageForge. It does not start upgrades, spend resources, or control Clash of Clans. Import a fresh village JSON when your actual progress differs from the plan.
5. Acceptable use
Use only data and images you are entitled to submit. Do not impersonate others, access another person's VillageForge account, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, upload malicious content, bypass access controls, or deliberately overload the service. Do not use VillageForge to facilitate cheating, game automation, account trading, or other violations of applicable game rules. Reasonable security reports are welcome; do not access or retain other users' data.
6. Content and ownership
You retain any rights you hold in your submissions. You give VillageForge only the permission needed to process, store, display to you, and synchronize them to provide the features you use. This does not grant ownership of your content or permission to publish your private exports or screenshots. Third-party game content remains the property of its owners. You may use the planner for your own planning; these terms do not grant a license to redistribute third-party artwork or claim ownership of it.
7. Free beta and outside services
The current beta is free. Registration does not charge you, create a subscription, or promise future paid features. Any future paid offering would require separate pricing and terms and compliance with applicable permissions. External guides, videos, game links, and hosting or sign-in services have their own terms. Links do not imply endorsement or transfer responsibility for those services to VillageForge.
8. Availability and ending use
Features may change or become unavailable during beta. Access may be restricted when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, legal requirements, or a material breach of these terms. Where practical and lawful, notice and an opportunity to address a problem will be provided. You may permanently delete the account from Account after confirming your password; local browser copies must be cleared separately. Service changes do not remove rights you have under applicable law.
9. Warranties, liability, and your rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, this beta is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free recommendations. VillageForge is not responsible for losses caused solely by a user's independent in-game choices or failures of services outside its control, except where applicable law makes it responsible. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits consumer, privacy, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Updates and questions
Changes will be identified by the version and effective date on this page. Material changes will be brought to users' attention, and renewed agreement will be requested where required by law. Changes do not apply retroactively to disputes that arose before the change. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms apply to the extent permitted by law. These terms do not impose arbitration or waive class-action rights.
Private-beta contact: use the channel through which you were invited to contact the VillageForge operator. The operator's legal identity and a monitored support/privacy email have not yet been published. They must be added before public registration opens.
Permitted use and service limits
VillageForge is an unofficial informational guide and planning tool. It does not connect to a player’s Supercell ID, request game login credentials, automate gameplay, modify the game, sell accounts or resources, or guarantee battle or progression results.
Recommendations may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong after balance changes. Verify costs, timers, event dates, shop inventory, and game rules inside Clash of Clans before acting.
Brand and artwork boundary
Game imagery is used only to identify and discuss Clash of Clans content. VillageForge branding should use its original anvil-and-hammer identity and should not incorporate modified Supercell game artwork or imitate a Supercell logo. Do not sell physical merchandise containing Supercell assets through VillageForge.
Monetization boundary
Do not charge for access to Supercell-derived fan content or tie donations to special features without written permission from Supercell. Advertising, genuine donations without benefits, and coaching are subject to the current Fan Content Policy and applicable law.
Privacy notice
Guest planner information is stored in your browser. Account registration enables cloud progression sync by default; you can disable it on Account. It does not need a Supercell ID email, password, verification code, recovery code, or payment information. Never enter those credentials into VillageForge.
- Browser storage: imported village exports and derived progression, preferences, planner changes, feedback, and (if enabled) screenshots are stored on this device in browser storage. Guest imports are processed locally. When signed in with sync enabled, supported export data and plan changes are sent to your account. Use the site’s clear-history controls or your browser’s site-data controls to remove local copies.
- Village and clan lookups: when you request a profile or war lookup, the player or clan tag is sent to the VillageForge server, which requests the corresponding public data from Supercell’s Clash of Clans API. The API response is used to show the requested profile or war information. Separately, recommendation requests send the Town Hall number, selected goal and playstyle, or the name of a selected army; they do not need the imported JSON or player tag.
- Layout links: when you ask to check a supported layout link, that URL is sent to the VillageForge server, which checks the allowed Clash of Clans or ClashLoot host.
- Screenshot scanning: screenshots used for layout zones are processed in your browser. If cloud building recognition is enabled on the server and you start a scan, the screenshot views or derived crops and building labels are sent to the VillageForge server and then to OpenAI for visual analysis. This feature is disabled unless the operator enables it. The provider’s terms and data controls also apply; do not upload another person’s private information.
- Optional VillageForge account: the hosted preview stores your email, account identifier, creation time, a salted password verifier, session records, sync setting, and synced progression in its cloud database. Readable passwords are not stored. The hosted version uses PBKDF2-SHA256; the separately operated local server uses a salted scrypt password verifier. Account details authenticate you; saved plans provide cross-device progression. Registration turns sync on, uploading supported village export fields, goals, preferences, and history. Screenshots and API tokens are excluded from account sync. You can permanently delete the account from Account after confirming your password, removing its record, synced progression, and active sessions from the application database. This does not clear browser copies or promise immediate erasure from provider backups. When email delivery is configured, Resend processes your email address and a single-use verification or reset link to deliver account-security messages. Links expire after 24 hours for verification or 30 minutes for recovery. The database stores a hash of the token, its purpose, expiry, and account association. Password changes and resets sign out all sessions.
- Cookies: account sign-in uses an HttpOnly session cookie with a seven-day expiry. The hosted service stores session records in its database; the local server keeps sessions in memory and may sign you out on restart. The local recommendation service also uses a one-day rate-limit cookie. These cookies support sign-in and abuse prevention. Browser storage also holds planner settings and local saves.
- Beta survey: responses are optional and linked to your VillageForge account. The operator can review your account email, account identifier, ratings, tasks attempted, self-reported outcomes, selected features, village/device choices, issue impact and frequency, written answers, survey version, and submission time to improve the service. If you opt in, your village type, Hall level, selected goal, and site version are also included to help diagnose issues; that context excludes the player tag, raw export, screenshot, and credentials. The operator may add a review status, private notes, and a duplicate group. You can see your status; operator notes and duplicate groups are not shared with testers. Other testers cannot see your response. You can update or delete it from Account; deleting the account also removes its response from the application database. Responses are retained until you delete them or your account. Avoid submitting private credentials or personal information about others.
- Hosting data: the hosting provider may process IP addresses, request times, URLs, device information, and security logs needed to deliver and protect the site. VillageForge does not control the provider’s log retention period.
- External images: some game icons load from third-party asset hosts, which receive network information such as your IP address. Their privacy terms apply.
- Third-party links: external sites have their own privacy policies and terms. VillageForge does not control them.
User controls and retention
Local planner and village data stays in this browser until you clear it. Deleting a VillageForge account does not clear local data. Account and synced progression records remain until you delete them. Disable sync and use Delete synced progression to remove cloud saves without deleting your login. Cloud recovery retains at most 20 earlier progression saves for up to 30 days; expired recovery saves are removed when recovery is accessed or progression is changed. Deleting synced progression also deletes these recovery saves. Downloaded device backups are files controlled by you, not cloud backups. Unsent changes and a prior device copy may remain in this browser until you clear them. Security rate-limit records, expired email tokens, and expired sessions are cleaned during relevant account requests. Hosting logs and provider backups may persist under the provider’s retention rules. Before public registration, the operator must publish its contact details and a defined retention and backup-removal schedule.
Children
VillageForge is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly request personal information from children. Do not submit another person’s private information.
Sources, ownership, and changes
Upgrade data and supplemental artwork are distributed through clash-of-clans-data. Package license and copyright notice. The package license does not replace Supercell’s rights in game artwork.
Some game portraits are served by ClashKing Assets, whose project requests attribution for hosted-asset use. Underlying game artwork remains subject to its owners’ rights and Supercell’s Fan Content Policy.
Third-party guides, layout directories, videos, and datasets remain the property of their respective owners. Links and citations do not imply endorsement. News pages contain short VillageForge-written summaries with source links, not copies of the original articles. Attribution alone does not establish permission to reuse third-party artwork.
VillageForge currently has no payment checkout or advertising system. Account and screenshot features depend on the server configuration; the hosted preview supports accounts and cloud progression, while cloud image recognition may be unavailable. This page describes the application behavior; hosting, provider, and jurisdiction-specific requirements should be reviewed before a public launch.

Authentication on this beta host
Supabase handles email and password authentication, confirmation emails, and password resets for this deployment. Authentication information is processed by Supabase; saved village plans remain in Cloudflare D1. Do not submit your Supercell account password or recovery codes. Email delivery requires a configured sender. Account deletion is available only after the operator configures secure deletion of the authentication record as well as saved application data.
